Hi everyone! I just started the next phase of my medical career as a Primary Care Attending at Boston Children's Hospital and Instructor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. I completed my pediatrics residency at Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington in 2022 after receiving my M.D. and M.H.S. degrees from the Duke University School of Medicine in 2019. In my time as a medical Blue Devil, I served as the first two-term Executive President of Duke Med, chaired the Admissions Second-Look Weekend for prospective students, wrote and directed the annual Student-Faculty Charity Show, and had the opportunity to do a lot of clinical and leadership teaching. In short, Duke Med was a dream come true, and I loved every second of learning how to be the type of doctor I was uniquely meant to be. In addition to the Baldwin program, my time as a Duke undergraduate was filled with wonderful experiences like co-chairing the First-Year Advisory Counselor Board, giving historical campus tours with Dukes & Duchesses, and volunteering as an EMT, all of which shaped the healthcare provider and person I am today. Looking ahead, I am excited to use all of my Duke training to help make the world a happier and healthier place for kids. Clinically, I am passionate about pediatric mental health and chronic disease management. My professional interests include medical education, leadership development, narrative medicine, and healthcare provider wellness. When I am not wearing my coffee-stained white coat, I love writing, hiking, road cycling, and have recently been trying my hand at stand-up comedy. My email is valentine.esposito@gmail.com. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any and all questions!
