I was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa and spent all 18 years of my life there before matriculating at Duke in the fall of 2004. I graduated in the spring of 2008 with a major in Public Policy Studies and a minor in Economics. While at Duke I was involved in service-learning, undergraduate research, and residence life/housing. I received my master's degree (2012) and doctorate (2016) in Economics from the University of Chicago. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Duke University.
