Hi! My name is Olivia and I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to join the Baldwin community.

I grew up in Spain and lived there until I was sixteen, when I moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend UWC Mostar for the last two years of high school. Becoming part of a global movement that works toward peace and sustainability was a truly transformative experience and living surrounded by people from all over the world - with different perspectives and life stories to mine - fostered in me a deep interest in politics, human rights, and cross-cultural understanding.

After graduating from UWC Mostar in May 2024, I obtained a scholarship to embark on a global journey with the organization Baret Scholars, spending nine months traveling across five regions of the world. Through this experience, I deepened my love for the outdoors and gained clarity about how I want to use my time at university to pursue my ambitions.

At Duke, I intend to do a double major in Environmental Sciences & Policy and Public Policy. I am truly excited to further explore the interconnection between humans and nature, as well as the various ways in which I can contribute to the protection of both human and environmental rights in the future. On campus, I’m part of the Sustainability Ambassadors Program, the Duke Climate Coalition, and the Volleyball Club.

Beyond academics, my interests include filmmaking, sports, reading, and anything related to the outdoors. I’m always up for a trip to the mountains.

I’m so excited for the years ahead!
