"Too much sanity may be madness and the maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be." ~Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixot
Who I am: I am a hippie at heart: I love love, I believe in peace, and I think fighting both for the environment and for social justice are the two most important things there are. I am an open-minded liberal, a pragmatic idealist, a flower child, and a counterculturalist. I love nature and sunflowers (you can't look at one and not smile), the Baldwin Scholars (obviously), bringing people together with (delicious) food, laughing, being part of a cause, paying it forward, and practicing random acts of kindness.
I am a costumer. I believe firmly in the idea that you should never miss an opportunity to embarrass yourself publicly. On any given day, I may be seen around campus flying a giant peace dove, dressed in clothes from the '60s or as a Victorian woman or a leprechaun or Prince Poppycock (my favorite in high school was definitely a ship from the Spanish Armada).
When I'm not putting costumes together, I am studying Environmental Science and Policy, with a minor in Earth and Ocean Sciences, focusing on the management of freshwater resources or involving myself with the Environmental Alliance and Rince Diabhal (Duke Irish Dance).
I will end as I started, with one of my favorite quotes:
"We have the choice to use the gift of our lives to make the world a better place." ~Jane Goodall
