I’m Grace Benson and I’m a Baldwin from the class of 2014. Right now I’m a PhD student studying International Relations with a concentration in Peace and Conflict Studies at American University in Washington, DC. I am passionate about using my experiences working with diverse populations of former refugees and displaced persons to inform ethical resettlement policy. I have lived and worked in several different countries over the past ten years, including Nepal, Peru, New Zealand, Jordan, and Spain.
Being a Baldwin at Duke was an incredible opportunity for me to meet women who inspired me as a feminist, a scholar/policymaker, and person. If you have any questions or would like to chat about anything - whether it is living abroad, life at Duke, ethics, policy, forced migration, or the Baldwin Scholars program - please contact me!
