"The present is a process, and it is necessarily imperfect."
I learned the above during a grammar lesson in my elementary Russian class during my freshman fall, and I've been holding on to the sentiment ever since.
My name is Audrey Adu-Appiah, and I'm a senior from Charlotte, North Carolina by way of Boston, Massachusetts (four year stint at boarding school learning how to shiver). I'm a photographer for The Chronicle, a member of Duke Debate, a lover of languages, and an English and Political Science double major. In my free time, I like to edit video, read legal blogs and feminist essays, and nurse my addiction to television (my taste ranges from the nerdy to the stylish to the gritty). I'm an avid fan of Russian literature, directors David Fincher and Spike Jonze, and folk covers of rap songs.
The Baldwin Class of 2014 has been a continual source of support and inspiration for me as I navigate the pleasures and perils of my time at Duke -- and I look forward to learning from them through senior year and beyond. If anyone (prospective freshmen, fellow Baldwins) has any questions, feel free to shoot me an email at ala14@duke.edu. I look forward to hearing from you!
