Hello! My name is Andrea Patiño and I am a video journalist from Bogotá, Colombia, currently based in Boston. I work with Univision News Digital in the Video Features team, where I mostly work on stories that have to do with immigration and the Latino community in the US.

Before Duke, I attended the  United World College, an international boarding high school, in Norway. At Duke, I majored in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Visual Arts and a certificate in Policy Journalism and Media Studies.  Through the Center for Documentary Studies, I was selected as a Lewis Hine Documentary Fellow and worked in Boston after Duke. My project From the World to Lynn: Stories of Immigration was featured by The New Yorker, NPR's The State of Things (WUNC) and Under the Radar (WGBH).

In 2014 I returned to North Carolina to complete a Master’s degree in Media and Journalism at UNC Chapel Hill. I joined Univision shortly after graduating, and since I have worked on multiple documentary projects both individually and as part of larger teams. I am involved in all parts of the process––from pre to post production.

Please feel free to contact me if you want to chat about media and documentary or if you are in town! Always happy to connect with Baldwins old and new.
