Hello world!
My name is Aarti Asrani and I am so excited be a 2016 Baldwin Scholar! I'm from Chapel Hill, NC so I have had the pleasure of growing up very close to this beautiful Gothic wonderland. My childhood is painted with memories of cheering my heart out at Cameron Indoor, rolling down hills in Duke Gardens, and attending various performances at Page Auditorium. These experiences from my childhood have made me feel like my whole life thus far has led up to my four years at Duke. And now with the honor of being in the company of such motivated and passionate women through the Baldwin Scholars program, Duke just seems that much more beautiful.
My interests are widespread, but I am passionate and enthusiastic about every single one of them. You can catch me performing with the Duke Dhamaka Bhangra dance team somewhere on campus, working to organize feminist campaigns, or practicing with the Duke Debate team! As of right now, I am planning to major in Political Science and minor in Women's Studies. I know all of these interests are just the beginning of what is yet to come my way over the next four years. I am incredibly excited to explore new activities, meet new people, and grow from my experiences. Along with that, I am so thankful for my supportive family, friends, and to the Baldwin Scholars program for giving me such an amazing opportunity.
Time to dance like nobody is watching.
Love, Aarti
