Hi Everyone!
My name is Kia and I am from Charlotte, North Carolina. My family just moved to Miami in June!! Eventually, I’ll just say I live in Miami, but I’m not quite ready today :) I am the oldest out of four and love love love my family. They are my primary inspiration and I am so grateful for their continuous support. Academically, I am pre-med and I plan on majoring in Neuroscience. Even though the summer before I came to Duke I was an engineer, and then when I started school, I was an anthropologist… I’m pretty sure I want to be a Neuroscientist now?!!
My interests lie generally within the science field. I recently participated in research involving electrical and computer engineering, and have been involved in several areas of science research and activities here at Duke. Now I work at the UNC-Duke Brain Imaging and Analysis center, assisting with fMRI studies and psychology research.  As you can see, I generally remain confused about my daily decisions academically, and tend to just go for new and exciting things. I know I’m not the only one out there who feels like this…
Baldwin has been great for me because it puts me in a network full of girls who I can turn to for encouragement and more importantly, endless laughter. I don’t have a 5-year plan, or my life sorted out into details quite yet. I just go day-by-day, learning more about myself and those around me. I try new things, work hard, and hope for the best- always. Because I have such a free spirit, Baldwin is a great way for me to explore my opportunities and take advantage of all aspects of my college experience. I hope you enjoyed reading! Thanks for stopping by....
