I graduated from Duke in May 2009 with a Biology major, although I found (too late) that of all my classes, I was least passionate about the Biology ones. I chose my major because I was on the pre-med track and had loved my high school AP Biology class. At Duke, my most engaging classes were in the Religion and History departments. I also ran track and cross country. As a result of my mixed feelings about my choice of majors and also the possibility of continuing my athletic career post-collegiately, I left Duke without much of a plan other than to go home to my family in Colorado and fully recover from the mental and physical exhaustion that plagued my last two years at Duke. Within weeks of going home, I was able to think more clearly about what I wanted to do with my life and how I wanted to do it. I decided to commit to the medical school path, but I plan to work for two years before going back to school.
