Megan Dorogi

My name is Megan Dorogi and I am incredibly excited and honored to be a member of Baldwin’s class of 2020!

I was born and raised in Fairview Park, OH, a westside suburb of Cleveland. (Go Cavs!) I have two older siblings, two amazing parents, and a dog named Maggie. My sister, Allison, is a student in her second year at Cincinnati Medical school and my brother, Andrew, is a Junior at Amherst University. My family inspires me through their incredible achievements everyday and have always pushed me to do my best.

I went to high school at Hathaway Brown, a small all-girl’s school in Shaker Heights. At HB I was surrounded by incredibly talented, innovative, and empowered girls. I am so excited to join a similar community through Baldwin.

Outside of class I sang, danced, played golf, and worked within the Cleveland community. I served as a member of the teen CO-OP at Cleveland Art Museum and as a youth alumni board member at the Effective Leadership Academy. Within each organization I worked to advance teenage involvement and awareness through social media content creation and implementation. I am also incredibly fond of my time spent at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. Through a program called Youth360 I was educated on issues of sexual violence and prevention techniques. Also within Youth360, I was introduced to media literacy and hope to reverse the poor representation of women in popular media.

Although I am still exploring the many potential academic opportunities at Duke and am unsure of my career path, I am pursuing a major in Economics and certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
