Hi... Ciao... ¡Hola! My name is Brooke Kingsland and I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the Baldwin Scholars program. From friendship and mentorship, to leadership and support, Baldwin has been invaluable to both my time at Duke and growth as an individual. I feel incredibly fortunate and so excited to be a part of our development as an organization and force on campus.
There's too much to say about my past, present and future to include everything in this space, but for starters I am from south of Boston, and, at heart, Viterbo, Italy, where I spent my junior year of high school. So far at Duke, I have been able to utilize our amazing resources and travel to the Outer Banks, both Virginias, New York City, the Navajo Nation Dinè, New Orleans, Holland, Belgium, Nicaragua, and Kenya. These and the other opportunities I have had here are remarkable, and in my life I hope to be able to extend them to more people. I am a recently-declared visual studies major, excited and eager to find a way to combine my passions for creative expression, communication, child rights, education and health.
