Hi! My name is Ines Jordan-Zoob and I am incredibly excited to be a member of the Baldwin Scholars! I was born in London, but have lived in Washington D.C., Virginia and (briefly) in Moscow, before returning back to London, which is now my home. My mother is Ukranian and my father is Spanish, so there are always a lot of different ethnicities around. My family lives across the U.S., England, Spain and Ireland, so I am fortunate enough to be able to travel a lot, in order to visit them! Because of my family background and how much I have moved around, I like to think that my life is like a big patchwork quilt, meshing together a variety of diverse experiences.
Here at Duke, I hope to enrich myself both within and beyond the academic realm. My passion for International Relations, History and History of Art has materialized in my planned double major in Political Science and Visual Media Studies. Among other things, I want to learn more about how countries interact with each other, and how visual culture follows these interactions. In my free time I love to read, watch documentaries and go to art exhibits.
Joining the Baldwin community has managed to make a very big place feel a little smaller. I can't wait to become more involved and give back to the group. Most importantly, I look forward to proving that all women can and should achieve their highest potential! :)
