Although, I was just recently admitted into the Baldwin's Scholars program I can already sense the influence this incredible group of girls, teachers, and alumni are going to have on my life. Being a super outgoing and passionate individual I hope that I can spread my love of life to all those around me and learn from the other scholars, for they are all amazing!

As for the school stuff, my major is currently undecided, but I have begun to seriously consider majoring in Public Policy Studies. Specifically, I am an interested in refugee policy and would like to see the ways in which America deals with this largley invisible population change. In addition, Spanish, Ethics, and International Comparative Studies are all areas that I would like to pursue!

Outside of the classroom, my interests are abundant. I am first and foremost a dancer and a runner, but I love any type of physical activity. Long walks with my mom and friends are one of my favorite things to do. Moreover, I am a part of the Ethics, Leadership, and Global Citizenship FOCUS cluster and this has really influenced me here at Duke. Since arriving to Duke I have become a member of The Kenan Institue for Ethics' Team Kenan and a volunteer for MASTERY, a refugee tutoring program. I also am a dorm eco-rep, an admissions ambassador, a Duke Colloquim Fellow, and a writer for both Passport and Encompass magazines. Hence, it's safe to say that I am very involved in Duke student life and am LOVING every minute of it. The sporting events and school spirit are especially incredible. Watching Duke defeat UNC in football this fall was truly an experience I will never forget.

So while my experience at Duke is already everything I could have dreamed for it to be (stimulating, enriching, eye-opening) I think it will only improve with my admission into the Baldwin Scholars Program. I can't wait to embark on my college jouney surrounded by such a supportive, inspring group of young ladies.
