Duke University | Baldwin Scholars Program

Aubrey Bonhivert

I am from Crown Point, Indiana, which is a town in Northwest Indiana that is practically a suburb of Chicago. I am the middle child with two sisters.

I am graduating with a biology and psychology double-major and a chemistry minor. After graduating, I am taking a year off and then going to medical school. Eventually, I think I would like to go into pediatric neuro-oncology. My extracurriculars include doing research in olfactory genetics, playing the piano, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, and participating in the pre-med CAPE (Collegiate Athlete Pre-Medical Experience) program. I am also one of the program directors of FEMMES- Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science. FEMMES an educational outreach program that encourages 4th-6th grade girls from Durham to explore their potential in STEM fields through hands-on activities at a capstone event and after-school science clubs.

I applied to be a Baldwin Scholar in hopes that I would meet many other motivated and enthusiastic young women who wanted to get the most out of their Duke experience--- and I certainly did! I'm extremely grateful to have been in such an innovative and supportive program that has linked me with amazing women.
