Hey! My name’s Allison and I hail from Cleveland, OH. (Note…Cleveland is actually a lovely place despite its reputation. If you ever visit me, rest assured you’ll have a magical time) My family means the world to me and I love spending time with both my parents and my little brother and sister. I attended an all-girls school back home and am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a dynamic group of women in the Baldwin program!
At first glance, I am the polite, giggly, and ridiculously preppy Disney princess dressed head to toe in Lilly Pulitzer. Despite my love of Lilly (and most things pink) I love a challenge and will be more than happy to hand it to you anywhere and at any time ☺. I love the thrill of competition and am always up for new and exciting adventures! Football and hockey are my two favorite sports and there is nothing I enjoy more than watching them on Sunday evenings with my brother, dad, and grandpa. While I don’t play hockey and football myself, I have been playing tennis ever since I could hold a racket and am currently on the travel women’s club tennis team. I couldn’t imagine giving it up—I’m sure I’ll be playing on a women’s team for my entire life.
Music is another passion of mine and I honestly couldn’t go a single day without it. I have been singing my entire life and spent the last few years with the Cleveland Orchestra chorus. Duke has recently introduced me to the wide world of acapella and I am now a proud member of Out of the Blue. It has been an absolute blast to say the least!
Occasionally I trade my Lilly dresses and tennis skirts for closed toes shoes and a lab coat as I am also a dedicated pre-med, heart-set on medical school (and maybe a combined PhD program as well?). I research in the lab and clinic every week and have been working in cardiothoracic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic for the last 4 years. I can honestly say that I’ve never experienced anything like it and would love nothing more than to help people in such an incredibly meaningful way.
I am so excited for the next few years and can’t wait to get to know all of my Baldwin sisters! GO DUKE!!!
