Duke University | Baldwin Scholars Program

Anna Koelsch

Hello! My name is Anna, I'm from St. Paul, Minnesota, and I majored in public policy with a minor in German. At Duke I wrote and edited for The Chronicle, directed the theatrical production All of the Above, and spent a lot of time at the Sanford School of Public Policy. During my freshman year, I participated in the Global Health FOCUS cluster—an experience that provided invaluable mentorship opportunities while sparking an entirely new interest (I highly recommend it!). In 2012, I participated in DukeEngage Wentworth, South Africa during the summer and studied abroad in Berlin, Germany in the fall. I spent summer 2013 interning in San Francisco, California, and accepted a job there after graduation.

I applied to Baldwin with hopes for a supportive community of women who would push me to be a better version of myself. The program has certainly realized those hopes, although I could not have predicted how influential it would be for me. Baldwin women have encouraged me to confidently pursue my interests and seize every opportunity.
